Styrax japonicus 'Emerald Pagoda'

Foliage Deciduous
Form Horizontal Branching
Mature Size 8m x 6m
Family Salicaceae
Japanese Snowbell

Considered the most distinctive flowering of all Styrax japonicus selections, it produces an abundance of star-like flowers that are slightly fragrant. These flowers carpet the ground. Has large dark green leaves which are leathery in texture and turn yellow in autumn.

A very pretty small growing tree, it will grow as an understory tree or make a striking specimen in an open situation.

Copes well in full sun or part shade. While it prefers a well-drained soil, it is tolerant to most soil types. The ideal planting location is where the tree is able to receive a couple of hours of shade each day and in a protected environment from wind and harsh sun. It is recommended to thin out dead and weak branches yearly to keep it looking its best.
