Satsuma Japanese Blood Plum A small and attractive fruiting deciduous tree, leaves are green and flowers before the onset of fruit, are pink and white and fragrant. It is rich, juicy and dark red from skin to stone and is sweet and flavoursome. This is a very popular fruiting tree for small gardens. Can be heavy bearing, so thinning of fruit buds before development can be advantageous. Prefers a humus rich soil in a sunny to full sun position. |
