'Autumn Glow' Sweetgum This is a deciduous tree grown for its alternate, maple-like leaves which take on brilliant and long-lasting autumn colour. In autumn, foliage turns red and purple. Spring growth is fast with branches growing parallel to the ground with dark green and glossy foliage. It is a more compact option than the regular Liquidambar styraciflua. As a large tree, this variety is perfect for a feature shade tree. Great for acreage, large backyards, large parks and open spaces. Prefers full sun in well-drained soils. A hardy tree once established that tolerates most soil conditions. |
