Description Burnley Select is a form of Ulmus parvifolia that was grown by seed from a mature Elm, originally located at Burnley College in Melbourne. It is an attractive small to medium-sized semi-deciduous, ornamental tree with glossy dark green leaves which turn shades of yellow and red in autumn before falling. Its form is wider than other Chinese Elms at an early stage. The bark exfoliates in patches, revealing beautiful mottled colours of grey, green, orange & brown.

Uses As a cultivar of Chinese Elm, it offers good shade, and works well as a background tree or screen.    
Position & Soil Prefers a humus-rich soil. Is frost resistant but drought tender.
