Description | A medium sized deciduous tree with a spreading, rounded crown. The glossy, dark green leaves are heart-shaped and turn a yellow-ish green in autumn. A native to Europe, it has attractive foliage and pendulous, fragrant, pale yellow flowers in summer, followed by small winged nutlets. The bark adds further interest with its ridges and furrows. A good nectar plant, this variety is a valuable food source for honey bees and butterflies. The flowers are also known to be used to make a soothing, fragrant tea. | ||
