Description This is a bigger tree growing to 25m tall, with narrow dull-green foliage. It has a grey trunk with whitish patches and fibrous-flaky bark that sheds in short ribbons. The name microcarpa comes from Greek 'micros' meaning small, and 'carpos' meaning fruit, referring to the small fruit it produces.

Uses As a bigger tree, it is mostly found in the plains and grassy woodlands of the south-eastern parts of Australia. Provides an excellent habitat for wildlife.    
Position & Soil Is tolerant of hot summer conditions and elevated positions and in brown loams or heavier alluvial soils as well as on shallower soils in hill country.
