Tree Eucalyptus macrandra Long-flowered Marlock, River Yate
Description Eucalyptus macrandra is a tall shrub or medium mallee tree with greyish smooth bark which sheds during late summer and autumn. The revealed new bark is greenish-brown to brown. The leaves are lanceolate, leathery and bright green. Lemon yellow-coloured flowers emerge from elongated buds between December and March and are filled with nectar, making them attractive to native birds and insects.

Uses The variety is small enough to be accommodated in a residential setting or other urban plantings such as parks and recreational reserves. A very useful eucalypt it can be used as a street or feature tree.
Position & Soil This tree is tolerant of most soil types but prefers an open, well drained site in full sun to part shade.
