Description | Cercis canadensis 'Merlot' is a compact, deciduous tree with dark purple foliage and an upright, dense, vase-shaped habit. Autumn provides a stunning display of reds, oranges and yellows. It has a tighter, denser habit than Cercis ‘Forest Pansy’ and the leaves of ‘Merlot’ are smaller, thicker, and glossier. This is a Flemings variety. |
