Description	Like Corymbia, Backhousia releases a fragrant lemon scent when crushed. It is a pretty tree that produces small white lemon-scented flowers from late spring to summer. They prefer a subtropical environment, being native to Queensland rain forests.

Uses	Makes a useful shade tree and can be used for hedging or screening where the strong lemony scented leaves makes trimming a sensory pleasure. Leaves can also be used in cooking. Can be grown in coastal areas.
Position & Soil	This tree will tolerate most soils types but prefers humus rich soils with some moisture. Prune to shape if required.
