Tree Acer palmatum Japanese Maple

Description Acer palmatum can vary in height and size a little because they are grown from seed but in all cases it is a lovely small tree and very popular. They have a five lobed leaf and light green spring foliage usually turning deep orange and crimson in autumn.
Foliage
Deciduous

Form
V-Shaped

Mature Size 4 x 4m
Uses Ideal for small gardens, attractive street trees and can also be grown in containers, ensuring the container is large enough.
Position & Soil The leaves can be easily spoilt by sun and wind, so a part shade or afternoon shade position is ideal. Avoid a location that is unprotected from north or west afternoon sun, or hot winds in summer. They will thrive in well drained, organic rich soil.
