Tree Acer campestre Common Maple, Field Maple
Description Compact, slow growing small tree with a dense round canopy, and a somewhat corky bark. Small leaves with rounded lobes, dark green in summer, which turn a beautiful clear yellow in the autumn. Green inconspicuous flowers from September to October. Paired samaras spread throughout the tree and hang in clusters well into winter.

Mature Size 15 x 10m
Uses Great as a shade tree in medium to large gardens. Adds great autumn colour and could be used in avenue planting. Great as a street tree. Good for narrow sites.
Position & Soil Tolerates most conditions, including dry alkaline and compact soils. Can be grown in full sun or part shade and will tolerate some pollution.
