We think Acer rubrum ‘Autumn Red’ makes a great feature tree. In our opinion it is one of the best Canadian Maples available, especially for colour.

If you are looking for year-round interest, this tree has something to offer in each season: stunning autumnal colour, followed by fresh spring growth which is also coloured. Big leaves quickly fade to green in summer providing great shade. It has an attractive trunk in winter when bare and a naturally open structure which allows light and air to enter. Turf can be grown under this tree!

Its root systems are not overly vigorous and it is hardy in a wide range of conditions once established. More..
